Off Again
Fall has arrived in Korea and it is my last night at Camp Casey. Mist lingers among the tree tops each morning as green deliberately transforms to gold. The tempratures are also dropping slowly as winter approaches. With the change in weather, another Army tour has come to a rapid end. Although I spent only ten months here at times it seemed like ten years but as with all experiences it was unforgettable. I was able to solve the mystery of the empty Korean BBQ resturant. I survived a Korean amusement park. I even had a transformation of sorts with the Ville. I was also able to see "freedom's frontier" and be reminded how good each and every American has it. Overall not bad at all. Perhaps most importantly, my first active duty station forced me to grow up fast and become responsible. I could not have asked for a better bunch of Soldiers and co-workers to assist me in this growth and to spend my time with in Korea. I have once again had the privilege to work with some of the most remarkable people. "Go IRON TEAM!"
Once again I wonder what is in store next for me. In a few short weeks I will find my way back into another deployment and onto the tip of the spear so to speak. This is not not before getting a brief but big reminder of why I do what it is I do. I am very happy to be going to Seattle to see friends and family. As always, it is too short and there will not be enough time to catch everyone I want to see. In the grand scheme of things, it is a small sacrifice and I am so grateful to my entire family and those who I have had the honor to call friends. I am truly blessed. Although it is a bit meloncholy to see those I care about in short bursts and to know that I will spend another Christmas away, it makes the time I do spend with them that much more special.
