The Hardest Part
And the hardest part was letting go not taking part. Its the hardest part, the strangest thing is waiting for that bell to ring... And the hardest part was letting go not taking part, it nearly broke my heart... I wonder what's it's all about?
The above words are from Cold Play's The Hardest Part. This is a very special song to me because a very good friend (Thanks Magglio) said that she linked it to me when I deployed to Iraq. The more I listen to it, the more meaning it has for me. It accurately sums up my feelings about leaving and being gone again. There are many things that I will not be taking part in once I leave. I will be spending my first Christmas ever away from my family, a Seattle summer and other opportunities. Fortunately my desire to serve and experience something new, offsets my uneasiness about not taking part here in the United States. I wonder what's it's all about?
