Spring Thaw

Well the cold is finally over, I think. It still hasn't stopped my work flow. I still can't believe that is April already. It is a good thing. Normally I don't like to share work cases, because this site is my way of escaping work at times. There are exceptions, however. Besides this helps me remember things for later possible book material. :)
It started out with a yahoo who I signedchapterpaperwork on (chaptering is where youadministratively fire someone from the Army. It is a great and quick way to get rid of dirt bags whencourtmartial evidence is lacking). He was about to flyout of Korea. He gets busted selling MRES (Meals readyto eat) on Ebay to an undercover government agentalong with overhead projectors he has stolen fromdining facilities on post. He uses a screen name etc.to sell these things. He gives his unit address forthe agent to send the money order. The governmentagent contacts CID, which are the criminalinvestigators. They bring him in for questioning Heinvokes his rights. His unit places him on 24 hour(since we don't have bail and pre-trial confinement isthe next step) watch because he is suspected in otherthefts around post, including an $18,000 unsolved heistof a resturant's safe and a huge flight risk. He tells his friend to dispose of the other MREs that he stolefrom the supply room. Anyway in the process ofthrowing away the MREs his friend loses his dog tags in the dumptser. CID when they are searching the dumpster for other MREs, finds them. His friend is called in and begans to sing like a canary andimplicates him in not only the $18,000 hiest but alsoother unsolved theftson post. In the mean time the thief, slips his 24 hourguard and flees to Seoul, where his mom lives. The thief also speaks fluent Korean. Guess who the genius calls? his friend who has turned government evidence. CID sets up a sting using the friend down in Seoul. There is an agreement between the snitch and the thiefto meet in Seoul. The thief said he would renounce his U.S. citizenship, get them fake identification andan apartment in Seoul. Anyway there is a taketown inthe streets of Seoul at 2300 on Wed night. A search of the thief's barracks reveals 17 other cases ofMRES, a backpack full of cash and the reward posters for the $18,000 heist along with the shoes, coat that surveillence shows the thief wore. He also had a storage cage that was searched. CID found lock picking tools, and a locksmith magazine. The snitch also led CID to where they dumped the safes stolen in the $18,000 theft. I should also add that these two knuckle heads have girlfriends/juicy girls as well who were withthem when the sting went down. I should also add there is another accomplice in the theft who has left Korea but is also wanted for his role in this. I seriously cannot make this stuff up. As an aside, the thief is also implicated in a theft at our CTAS which is our medical clinic. He has clymedia and during that thef the stole medicine for his clymedia. I tell you I cannot make this stuff up if I tried. I have eight months and counting left here in the Land of the Morning Calm.
